Equipment

  • 1 blender or immersion blender

Ingredients
 
 

For the dressing

  • 5 ounces hulled strawberries 6-7 medium strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Ground pepper to taste

For the salad

  • 3 cups mixed greens packed
  • 5 ounces hulled strawberries sliced
  • ½ cup pecans crushed

For topping

  • red onion thinly sliced

Instructions
 

  • Place all ingredients for the dressing in a blender. Process until smooth.
  • Place the greens, sliced strawberries and pecans in a large bowl. Drizzle half of the dressing (adjust to your liking) and toss. Reserve the rest of the dressing for later.
  • Serve the salad on a plate, and top with red onion slices. Drizzle more dressing on top if desired.
