    Strawberry vineaigrette dressing

One of the things I love about this salad is the dressing. Balsamic vinegar has got its own tangy sweetness, but adding a bit of real strawberries brings the flavor to the next level.

The dressing is made by simply tossing all the ingredients into a blender. Just a bit of blitzing is all you need and the vibrant fruity dressing will be ready to go.

How to make strawberry pecan salad

    1. Make the dressing - Place all ingredients for the dressing in a blender. Process until smooth.

    2. Toss - Place the greens, sliced strawberries and pecans in a large bowl. Drizzle half of the dressing (adjust to your liking) and toss. Reserve the rest of the dressing for later.

    3. Top & serve - Arrange the salad on a plate, and top with red onion slices. Drizzle more dressing on top if desired.

    Tips

The strawberries in the salad (not the dressing) can be substituted with other berries such as raspberries and blueberries.

Once you drizzle the dressing, make sure to eat immediately as the greens will wilt.

    Frequently asked questions

Can I make this ahead of time?

You can make the strawberry vinaigrette dressing up to 3 days in advance and keep it refrigerated. The greens, sliced strawberries and crushed pecans can also be combined and refrigerated up to half a day in advance.
Toss the salad and top with sliced red onion right before serving.

    Can I use other nuts?

If you are not a fan of pecans, other nuts such as sliced almonds and crushed cashews go well with this salad as well.
