Ingredients

  • 5 oz canned tuna drained
  • ¼ medium onion minced
  • 4 tablespoons avocado oil mayonnaise or regular mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon tamari soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 large avocado, cubed cubed
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cups cooked Japanese rice (sushi rice) or any rice

Optional toppings

  • Nori seaweed
  • Toasted white sesame
  • Chili threads

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the tuna (see the note below), onion, mayonnaise, tamari, sesame oil together and mix well.
  • Add in the avocado cubes and mix again.
  • Spread nori over cooked rice, then arrange the tuna mix on top. Sprinkle some white sesame and chili threads if desired.

Notes

Drain the tuna well to avoid the mix getting watery. An easy way is to scoop out the tuna with a spoon leaving the liquid in the can.
