These vibrant green rice krispie treats are perfect for matcha lovers! They are aromatic, unique, crunchy but soft, and insanely delicious. Depending on the size you cut into, they can be enjoyed as packable snack, bars, or bite-size treats.

This recipe requires absolutely no baking. All it takes is to make the matcha marshmallow mix in a saucepan, drizzle over the rice cereal, and let it set in a square pan.

    Tips

    • For an easier release, lightly greasing the parchment paper really helps.
    • To maintain the soft chewy texture, do not press down the krispies too hard.

    FAQ

Which matcha powder should I use?

I use culinary grade matcha for this recipe, and it totally works! If you use a ceremonial grade, you will get a brighter green color with less bitterness.

How should I store matcha rice krispie treats?

They can be kept at room temperature for up to 1 week, stored in an airtight container. They can also be kept frozen for up to 3 months.

    Is 'Kellogg's Rice Krispies' gluten-free?

Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal is not gluten-free due to its malt flavoring, but there are many others labeled gluten-free such as Malt O Meal, Nature's Path, and Aldi brand.
