    These vegan tamari almonds are a delicious, crunchy snack made with a simple glaze of tamari soy sauce and maple syrup. Finished with a nutty sprinkle of sesame seeds, they have the perfect balance of salty and sweet flavors in every bite.

    Ingredients for this recipe

    • Raw almonds
    • Tamari soy sauce
    • Maple syrup
    • White and (or) black sesame

    How to make tamari almonds

    Step 1. In a large non-stick pan, place the almonds. Roast over medium heat for 5-8 minutes until fragrant and golden. 

    Step 2. Add the tamari soy sauce, maple syrup to the pan and cook on low heat until the liquid cooks down.

    Step 3. Sprinkle sesame seeds and toss. 

    Step 4. Cool the almonds on a lined sheet pan. Make sure to separate them out to avoid sticking.

    Variations

    Add some shichimi pepper or cayenne pepper for a bit of kick! 

    How should I store tamari almonds?

    Tamari almonds can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Make sure the almonds are completely cooled before transferring to a storage container.
