    Pork napa cabbage soup is the perfect comfort food. It is incredibly flavorful with simple ingredients, and loaded with deep umami notes from the ground pork. This quick and easy meal is sure to be your new favorite for the colder season!

    Pork napa cabbage soup is ready in under 20 minutes in one pot, making it a great option for weekday meals. There’s carrots, napa cabbage, and chunks of ground pork simmered in vegetable broth. The broth is seasoned simply with tamari soy sauce. 

    To make this soup even more satisfying, you can pair it up with a warm bowl of rice, other grains such as quinoa, or even noodles!

    Ingredients for this recipe

    • Vegetable broth
    • Ground pork - do not use salted type (like sausage ground pork)
    • Napa cabbage
    • Carrot
    • Tamari soy sauce

    Optional toppings

    • Thinly sliced scallions
    • Toasted white sesame

    How to make pork napa cabbage soup

    Step 1. Place the vegetable broth in a large saucepan and bring it to a boil.

    Step 2. Add the ground pork to the broth. Break up the meat with your hands into tiny pieces as you add into the broth.  Let it cook for 30 seconds or until the meat floats to the surface.

    Step 3. Add in napa cabbage and carrots. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until the carrots are tender.

    Step 4. Season with tamari soy sauce.

    Step 5. Serve with scallions and white sesame.

    Yes. Ground turkey, chicken, or beef all work with this recipe.

    Pork napa cabbage soup can be refrigerated for up to 5 days, covered tightly. Reheat in a saucepan over the stovetop or microwave for a couple of minutes.

    • 1 large carrot peeled and thinly sliced
    • 2 teaspoons tamari soy sauce or more
