These salted tahini chocolate chip cookies are so addictive with a perfect chewy tender texture. There is no need to chill the dough, and it takes less than 30 minutes to make. Thanks to the almond flour and nutty tahini, they are rich in fiber and protein!
I have been a huge fan of tahini for the longest time. This rich smooth paste made out of finely ground sesame is often used for making hummus.
However my recent obsession has been to incorporate it into baked goods. It adds an irresistible nuttiness which enhances the flavor wonderfully. On top of that, tahini is a great source of protein!

You Will Love These Cookies Because
They are...
More nutrient rich than traditional chocolate chip cookies.
Thanks to the almond flour, these cookies are rich in fiber, lower in sugar, and has less butter as tahini partially replaces it.
Gluten-free and dairy-free.
They are perfectly gluten & dairy free but nobody notices that they are. They disappear in seconds at parties!
Quick and easy to bake.
How long can you wait when your cookie cravings kick in? This recipe takes less than 30 minutes from start to finish.
Perfectly sweet and salty!
The flaky salt topping is such a game changer.
How Long Should They Be Baked For?
It depends on your preference and the baking environment but I like to bake mine for 11 to 12 minutes for 12 jumbo sized cookies. They come out quite soft right out of the oven but firm up as they cool.
If you would like to make 16 smaller cookies, shorten the baking time by 2 minutes - 9 to 11 minutes has been my sweet spot.

Tips
- Stir the tahini well before using. Make sure there are no big lumps as they could remain as big chunks in the cookies.
- Try to weigh the ingredients as much as possible as it helps you to measure accurately and makes the result consistent.
- Almond flour cannot be with other flours as they bake differently.
- Do not over bake. Rather keep them underbaked to have a chewier softer texture.
